柯文又随父母搬到了一个新的城市。他已经忘记了这是第几次搬家了，父母为了给柯文制造更好的生活和学习条件，每天忙于工作，在国内外奔波。 在一个陌生的城市，除了保姆没有家人的陪伴，内心倍感孤独。柯文每天上学放学都要经过一个十字路口，那是一个市井街市，环境脏乱差，还有各种各样形形色色的人，每次经过柯文都是带着耳机，仿佛整个世界都与他无关。一次在街上被收废纸阿婆的误认让柯文开始去了解这些平时不愿意多看一眼的石井人物，并从他们身上理解到父母的艰辛和不易，最终答应父母出国留学。。The film opens with a narrated disclaimer over footage of an opening coffin.
